Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR is a 2-in-1 computer, this form factor allows you to attach it to the keyboard that comes with it and use it similar to a laptop, as well as removing the keyboard & carrying the tablet around when you don’t need to type a lot, which is useful for many tasks like light Internet browsing or reading E-books.
Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR comes equipped with Cherry Trail Atom processor, if you are not familiar Atom processors, they are ultra-low voltage processors that take much less energy than the normal Intel ones, they may be less powerful, but their battery life makes up for that, as it allows for the creation of portable & affordable devices, the processor speed is 1.44GHz, and it can be Turbo boosted up to 2.24GHz if needed. It is powerful enough to run a wide variety of applications as long as you kept your expectations low enough.
Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR has 4GB of ram memory, which is higher than the 2GB I saw in some other Windows tablets I reviewed, having that amount of ram allows, again, this tablet to run a wider variety of applications compared to these other tablets.
When it comes to storage, Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR has 64GB of memory, about half of it is taken by the operating system & any pre-installed applications. So you are going to be tight on storage with Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR. Fortunately, you can use a Micro SD to get additional storage for your files & other things.
For such a portable tablet, battery life is important, and in case of Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR, its battery life can range from 4-6 hour, depending on what you are working on. Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR is charged using the micro-USB port in it, which makes it convenient to charge on the go.
As for portability, Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR weights a little less than 3 pounds, or around the weight of the 13-inches Mac Air if you have one, so it is okay for carrying around all day, so it is not the easiest really.
The attachable keyboard is small, the keys are close to each other, but you can certainly use it, it may feel flimsy to you, but it is generally good.
Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR comes with a 10-inches IPS screen, which provides bright & clear picture. The resolution of the screen is 1280×800, which can be low by today’s standards, the advantage of that is how the icons in any program you would use appears bigger than in case the screen resolution was higher, this can making using the tablet using touch features easier. So to be honest with you, you may want to check out another tablet if the resolution is so important to you, like in case you plan to play videos on it or something.
Since Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR has no stylus, it can be used mainly for Photography, but certainly not for drawing, unless you are one of those who draw with a mouse, that can be fine for vector drawing at least. The only way to draw properly with Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR is to attach an external graphics tablet to it or something, which can turn Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR into a portable drawing station. —
That’s a shame really, because the specifications of Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR allows it to run art applications to a good extent, Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR can run Photoshop, Illustrator, GIMP, Paint Tool SAI & Sketchbook Express to a good degree.
The detachable keyboard can make using a graphics tablet with Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR a good thing, as you can place the tablet on the front of the screen and work using the express keys on the tablet, as well as pick the tool you want using the mouse cursor.
Unlike Microsoft Surface Pro, which requires you to buy the keyboard separately, the keyboard comes included with Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR, which makes it even more affordable. The tablet attaches to the keyboard really well, though it is not very flexible when it comes to the viewing angles it allows you to use with.
When it comes to the keyboard itself, it feels a little bit flimsy, and it may not be okay in case you have big hands, but it is definitely usable with some efforts. The keyboard also has a trackpad, which is also good. The trackpad supports many kind of gestures, like pinch-to-zoom & scrolling with two fingers.
When you connect the tablet to the keyboard, you also get another full USB port, located on the side of the keyboard. The Mini HDMI port make you able to connect Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR to an external monitor or TV for in case you want to work on a bigger screen.
The speakers of Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR is not something you would use to listen to music, they are not that good, so it is pretty much advisable to have a headphone or something in case you plan to play anything with audio on this tablet.
The cameras are okay, you can use it to take good pictures with it, but it is not the best camera to have around. But at least you can use it for video conferencing, there is a bug in the software that make you appear upside down while doing that, but installing the camera utility from Asus’s website solves this problem.
Depending on the task you plan to use for, Transformer Book T100HA-C4-GR is one good device to be used for tons of things, especially with how it runs a full-fledged Windows operating system. Making it a device worth checking out for your portable computing needs.
