The social outcast who looks at relationships in a twisted yet an interesting way.<\/p>\n<p>Technically speaking, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is \u00a0doesn\u2019t have much of a story, something that is likely to appeal for those who watch anime for the characters, as the anime is entirely centered around the characters, and that\u2019s a reason to recommend this anime\u00a0to anyone who likes slice-of-life anime. If you weren\u2019t popular in your school days, you may find yourself relate to Hikigaya to some extent<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>This is not your usual Romance-Comedy anime:-<\/strong><\/span> My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU may appear like a generic Romance-comedy anime at first, something you may not appreciate, but I highly recommend that you watch the first one or two episodes before judging on it. This is not an anime where a social outcast suddenly finds himself popular with girls or anything. It is totally not, one of the titles of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is \u201cMy youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected\u201d, which is a parody to your usual romance remedy. The story of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, if any, revolves around Hikigaya Hachiman, a second year high school student, and a cynical guy with a strange dead-fish eyes, who looks at things in a twisted way, to the degree that he looks at a group of friends having fun &amp; thinking to himself that they are living a lie. Despite the strange way Hikigaya looks at things, it turns out he has a good understanding of people relationships.<\/p>\n<p>Things keep at that until one of the teachers gets Hachiman to join the Service Club club, which have the most beautiful girl in the school, Yukinoshita Yukino, who has the title of &#8220;ice queen&#8221; due to her cold personality. And interestingly enough, she also doesn\u2019t have friends, despite her beauty &amp; skills.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after that, the service club get another member, Yuigahama Yui, the girl with a cheerful attitude, which makes her stands out between Hikigaya &amp; Yukino.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_755\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-755\" class=\"size-full wp-image-755\" src=\"http:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/commie-yahari-ore-no-seishun-love-comedy-wa-machigatteiru-my-teenage-romcom-snafu-13-cf1873ba-mkv_000318_07-05-13-e1442091591183.jpg\" alt=\"The service club\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-755\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The service club<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The service club goal is to solve people problem and requests, and in time, we get to see the members of the club interact with the other characters in the anime as the club solves people\u2019s problems. During that, we get to take a close look at people\u2019s relationships, and the twisted but effective ways Hikigaya solve them.<\/p>\n<p>As the anime progress, we get to know a bit more about the 3 main characters, and other characters that will come along as well, including the popular crowd. Because they gave me the first impression that it is a very generic romance comedy. I even thought that Hachiman will get kicked by Yokino once or twice per episode, but I am so lucky I was wrong.<\/p>\n<h3>Hikigaya Hachiman<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-746 size-full alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Hachiman1.jpg\" alt=\"Hikigaya Hachiman\" width=\"200\" height=\"250\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The protagonist of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, the outcast &amp; unpopular guy with dead-fish eyes. Who has a sceptical way to look at society, to the degree he thinks that youth is a lie, which is why his teacher, Shizuka Hiratsuka, forced him to join the Service Club, hoping to make him a better person.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his twisted view on people relationships, Hikigaya has a good understanding of these relationships work.<\/p>\n<p>Hikigaya Hachiman is voiced by <strong>Eguchi Takuya.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Yukinoshita Yukino<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-747 size-full alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Yukino2.jpg\" alt=\"Yukinoshita Yukino\" width=\"200\" height=\"237\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The female protagonist of Yahari,\u00a0and the president of the service club. Who is known as the &#8220;ice queen&#8221; due to her cold personality, which is one of the reasons she has no friends.<\/p>\n<p>Besides her beauty, she is smart and has many skills, and she comes from a wealthy family.<\/p>\n<p>Yukino is often called \u201cYukinon&#8221; by Yui Yuigahama.<\/p>\n<p>Yukinoshita Yukino is voiced by <strong>Hayami Saori.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Yuigahama Yui<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-744 size-full alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Yuigahama1.png\" alt=\"Yukinoshita Yukino\" width=\"200\" height=\"231\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A cheerful &amp; outgoing girl, who is in the same class as Hikigaya. Since she often wants to fit in the crowd, she tends to hide her true opinion about things. Which makes her admire Hikigaya &amp; Yukino for being able to state their state of mind honestly.<\/p>\n<p>Yuigahama Yui is voiced by <strong>Touyama Nao.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Other characters<\/h3>\n<p>Some of the other characters in My Teen Romantic Comedy are Hayato Hayama, the popular guy &amp; the ace of the Soccer club,\u00a0Yumiko Miura, the popular beauty in Hikigaya&#8217;s class,\u00a0Ebina Hina, the Fujoshi from the polar crowd, Haruno Yukinoshita, Yukino\u2019s older sister. Saika Totsuka, Hikigaya\u2019s cute classmate and Yoshiteru Zaimokuza, the Otaku &amp; Chuunibyou.<\/p>\n<h2>Pacing &amp; Enjoyment<\/h2>\n<p>The pacing of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is pretty normal, the anime takes its time to depict the relationships between the different people, but it doesn\u2019t do that in a boring way, you will often get with the \u201cflow\u201d of the anime, so it is unlikely you will feel voted while watching it.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0enjoyment of this anime is very good, which is another why the normal pacing is unlikely going to bother you.<\/p>\n<p>I strongly recommend that you finish the first one or two episodes before deciding if it is good for you or not.<\/p>\n<h2>Extra Few Things<\/h2>\n<h3>The opening song<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cIn this room filled with light, I will be waiting for you&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0opening is a quiet &amp; soothing song, it introduces you to the 3 main characters in the scenes for the most part.<\/p>\n<p>The opening song itself, Yukitoki, is beautiful, its lyrics is full of hope, which is ironically the opposite to Hikigaya\u2019s character. XD.<\/p>\n<h3>The ending songs<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0ending song, Hello Alone, is generic, not bad, not as good as the opening in my personal opinion. The second season is named \u201cYahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku&#8221;, and is 13 episodes long. The second season is a continuation of the first season, and contains better characters development.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Anime to watch if you liked My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on why you liked My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, there are 3 anime I picked up that you may want to watch after you watch it.<\/p>\n<h3>Hyouka<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-737 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Hyouka.jpg\" alt=\"Hyouka\" width=\"296\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I made Hyouka my first recommendation on purpose, as it seems the closest to My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU among the 3 recommendation I am making here.<\/p>\n<p>Hyouka is about Oreki Houtarou, a guy with a look on his eye that is kinda similar to Hikigaya&#8217;s. is a passive guy who tries to preserve his energy all the time. One day, he stumbles upon the literature club, where he meets Chitanda Eru, a girl that can be super curious when she wants to know something, and ends up joining the club, along with his two friends, Satoshi Fukube and Mayaka Ibara. And then they begun to investigate some of the mysterious events in their school.<\/p>\n<p>Hyouka is so similar to My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU when it comes to the social aspect of the characters relationships, though My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is deeper than Hyouka when it comes to that.<\/p>\n<p>One of the positive things about Hyouka is that it is a 22 episodes anime.<\/p>\n<p>I am yet to review Hyouka in this blog, but I will post a link to the review here once I do so.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;fst=as%3Aoff&amp;keywords=Haganai&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;qid=1442008163&amp;rh=n%3A2625373011%2Ck%3AHaganai&amp;rnid=2941120011&amp;tag=zanimeyahari-20&amp;linkId=EP2DOJ5F5FVRIIKH\">Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai)<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-735 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Haganai.jpg\" alt=\"Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai)\" width=\"248\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hasegawa Kodaka transfers school many times, which is one of the reasons that prevented him from making friends, along with his fierce-looking eyes, which make people think he is delinquent. He ends up meeting Yozora, who also doesn\u2019t have a friend, and create the Neighbors club with her, a club for those who don\u2019t have friends.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn\u2019t help noticing how Yahari is similar to this one when I first watched it. At least at the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>It felt like Hasegawa is similar to Hikigaya, with their strange-looking eyes &amp; lack of friends. How Yozora is similar to Yukinon, with their black her, cold personalities, and lack of friends. And how the two protagonists to both anime have a club together.<\/p>\n<p>But the similarities end here, as Haganai is more comedy oriented, while Yahari gets deeper into the relationships between people. I guess You are going to like Yahari or Haganai more depending about your genre preference, as both anime are considered good.<\/p>\n<p>I am yet to review Haganai in this blog, but I will post a link to the review here once I do.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;field-keywords=WataMote&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;rh=n%3A2625373011%2Ck%3AWataMote&amp;tag=zanimeyahari-20&amp;url=search-alias%3Dmovies-tv&amp;linkId=QGQHP2HRUY4OOKF5\">Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! (WataMote)<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-736 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Watashi-ga-Motenai-no-wa-Dou-Kangaetemo-Omaera-ga-Warui.jpg\" alt=\"Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! (WataMote)\" width=\"233\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kuroki Tomoko, social outcast and a shut-in girl, thinks her experience in dating Sims games will make her popular in high school, only to take a look at herself to discover how a loner she is.<\/p>\n<p>For a little while, I wanted to make a joke that the two anime are similar since they share a long name. The long name of WataMote translates to \u201cNo Matter How I Look at It, It\u2019s You Guys&#8217; Fault I\u2019m Not Popular!\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>I am yet to review WataMote in this blog, but I will post a link to the review here once I do.<\/p>\n<h2>And Finally<\/h2>\n<p>My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is a very good slice of life anime, that looks at people\u2019s relationships instead of telling you a specific story.
