In that new job, he is required to teach people of another world about the otaku\u00a0culture\u00a0of Japan. And along the way, he gets to know more\u00a0about the people in that world,\u00a0and many other things.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Outbreak Company is not an anime I would recommend if you have not watched many anime, as part of the fun of watching it is to see how otaku culture plays itself inside an anime. And to detect the many references from other anime while\u00a0watching\u00a0it. After all, the Japanese government discovered a gateway to another world called Eldant, a\u00a0world\u00a0that is similar to the fantasy world we see in anime, one that has elves, dwarfs, dragons,\u00a0castles and even magic. And to benefit from this discovery,\u00a0the government decided to spread the Japanese culture there, and so they looked for someone who knows a lot about this culture. And given Shinchi&#8217;s knowledge about that culture, no one is more suitable for that other than him.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As I previously said, many of the things in Eldants are things Shinchi (and us along with him) used to see in anime, and his reactions when he see\u00a0them are funny, and I guess\u00a0any of\u00a0us would react the same way if we ever visit a world like Eldant.<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-472\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/59687-outbreak-company-outbreak-company.jpg\" alt=\"59687-outbreak-company-outbreak-company\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/59687-outbreak-company-outbreak-company.jpg 700w, https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/59687-outbreak-company-outbreak-company-600x338.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>At first, all that\u00a0Shinchi does is to\u00a0teach people of Eldant the Japanese Otaku culture,\u00a0but after some time, he will get to see\u00a0some\u00a0of Eldant problems, like racism and few other thing.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>To some extent,\u00a0Outbreak Company is a bit similar to No Game No Life, where an Otaku from our world finds himself\u00a0transported\u00a0to\u00a0another world, and where their\u00a0otaku skill or knowledge turns out to be very useful in the other world.<\/div>\n<h2>The Art<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-471\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/anime-koi-outbreak-company-01-h264-720p72ad8d78-mkv_snapshot_07-03_2013-10-04_22-03-33.jpg\" alt=\"anime-koi-outbreak-company-01-h264-720p72ad8d78-mkv_snapshot_07-03_2013-10-04_22-03-33\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/anime-koi-outbreak-company-01-h264-720p72ad8d78-mkv_snapshot_07-03_2013-10-04_22-03-33.jpg 700w, https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/anime-koi-outbreak-company-01-h264-720p72ad8d78-mkv_snapshot_07-03_2013-10-04_22-03-33-600x338.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<div>The art of Outbreak Company is good. The art\u00a0illustrates how Eldant world looks very well, this is obvious in the parts where you see\u00a0the great\u00a0scenery of Eldant, like you do during the opening song.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I personally didn&#8217;t like the drawing style of the characters much. I don&#8217;t know how to describe it in words, but the way the eyes are drawn is not very appealing to me. But that is not something that prevented me from watching this anime &amp; enjoying it.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The\u00a0references of other anime look a bit different than the original anime they came from, but they are\u00a0done in\u00a0a way you can easily tell where the reference came from.<\/div>\n<h2>Characters<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_414\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-414\" class=\"wp-image-414 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/outbreak-company-anime.jpg\" alt=\"Outbreak Company Characters\" width=\"690\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/outbreak-company-anime.jpg 690w, https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/outbreak-company-anime-600x337.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Outbreak Company Characters<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>Kanou Shinichi<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-465 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/shinichi_kanou_542731.jpg\" alt=\"shinichi_kanou_54273\" width=\"182\" height=\"250\" \/>The main protagonist of Outbreak Company, and a first class Otaku, and a shut-in who spends all his time consuming anime, manga &amp; games. Until\u00a0he\u00a0was given the job of\u00a0spreading\u00a0the Japanese Otaku culture\u00a0in the\u00a0Holy Empire of Eldant.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Shinchi&#8217;s status as an Otaku\u00a0expert\u00a0didn&#8217;t come\u00a0out of no where, as he comes form a family directly related to the Otaku culture, with a father who is light novel author, and a mother that is eroge illustrator.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Shinichi is voiced by\u00a0<strong>Hanae Natsuki.<\/strong><\/div>\n<h3>Foaran Myucel<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-417 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/WEAd3-11.jpg\" alt=\"WEAd3 (1)\" width=\"208\" height=\"250\" \/><\/p>\n<div>Myucel is Shinchi&#8217;s maid in Eldant,\u00a0she\u00a0is a shy girl &amp; a\u00a0half elf.\u00a0 From the moment he sees her, Shinchi shows interest in her\u00a0since she\u00a0is a maid, and he\u00a0gets even more\u00a0interested\u00a0in her when he know she is an elf.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Myucel\u00a0voiced by\u00a0<strong>Mimori Suzuko.<\/strong><\/div>\n<h3>Anne Eldante III Petralka<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-415 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/outbreak-company-petrarca-1.jpg\" alt=\"outbreak-company-petrarca (1)\" width=\"195\" height=\"250\" \/><\/p>\n<div>Or simply Petralka, she is the empress of the Holy Empire of Eldant. Despite looking like a little girl (or a loli), she is actually close in age to Shinchi. She has a tsundere character (A term used to describe anime girl who is hostile toward a guy, but tends to\u00a0have feelings toward him eventually).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Petralka is voiced by\u00a0<strong>Fuchigami Mai.<\/strong><\/div>\n<h3>Minori Koganuma<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-467 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Minori_061.jpg\" alt=\"Minori_06\" width=\"193\" height=\"234\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Member of Japanese self-defence forces (JSDF), and the person assigned to help\u00a0Shinchi spread the Japanese culture in Eldant.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Minori is also an Otaku, who likes Yaoi (genre of anime about Boy love) so much. And is very skilled at combats.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As a fan service, she has F-cup large breasts, which Shinchi likes to look at.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Minori is voiced by<strong>\u00a0Uchida Maaya.<\/strong><\/div>\n<h3>Other characters<\/h3>\n<div>Some of the other characters are <strong>Jinzaburou Matoba<\/strong>, a guy from the Japanese governement, and the guy ho hired Shinchi. And\u00a0<strong>En Koldobar\u00a0Galious<\/strong>, a knight &amp;\u00a0cousin of Petralka.<\/div>\n<h2>Pacing &amp; Enjoyment<\/h2>\n<div>The pacing is good during the whole anime, and it\u00a0gets so fast at the end, which is good thing.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>If you are familiar enough with anime &amp; manga, you are more likely to enjoy Outbreak Company. As\u00a0it features many\u00a0references\u00a0for anime for us to look at, from &#8220;Hataraku Maou-sama&#8221;, to &#8220;Papa No Iukoto Wo Kikinasai&#8221; To &#8220;Toaru Kagaku No Railgun&#8221;, and a few more. These references are fun to\u00a0look at, and they make it more fun to watch the anime. While the\u00a0producer\u00a0made a change to the appearances of these references. They are still very obvious to detect, despite these changes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I really had an argue to post many screenshots of these references in this review. But I thought that may end up spoiling the fun of seeing them while you are watching the anime, so I\u00a0refrained\u00a0form doing so, and only posted the one you see below here. :P<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-469\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/reference-humor_o_2329207.jpg\" alt=\"reference-humor_o_2329207\" width=\"700\" height=\"393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/reference-humor_o_2329207.jpg 700w, https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/reference-humor_o_2329207-600x337.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/div>\n<h2>Extra Few Things<\/h2>\n<h3>The opening song<\/h3>\n<div>Outbreak Company opening, Univer Page, starts out in a very catchy tone, which makes me think it\u00a0can\u00a0be a good phone ringtone for an Otaku. And the song itself is very good in general.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The scenes of the openings are very cute &amp; happy, especially the ones where they show you\u00a0Petralka &amp;\u00a0Myucel in chibi. Besides that. The opening shows\u00a0you various\u00a0scenes\u00a0from Eldant, and different characters interacting with each other in different ways.<\/div>\n<h3>The DVD &amp; Bluray<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-480 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/81VSTedA3NL._SL1280_.jpg\" alt=\"Outbreak Company Bluray\" width=\"138\" height=\"174\" \/><\/p>\n<div>Outbreak company comes in either Bluray or DVD. The\u00a0Bluray version contains 2 discs. While the\u00a0DVD, is 3 discs.\u00a0Both the Bluray &amp; DVD\u00a0versions\u00a0contains the English dubs as well as the Japanese original voices. Both also contains English subtitles as well.<\/div>\n<h2>Anime to watch if you like\u00a0Outbreak Company<\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/no-game-no-life-review-released-in-bluray-and-dvd\/\">No Game No Life<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-64 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/no-game-no-life.jpg\" alt=\"No Game No Life Cover\" width=\"197\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/no-game-no-life.jpg 321w, https:\/\/sweetmonia.com\/The-Lost-Konpeitos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/no-game-no-life-241x300.jpg 241w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 197px) 100vw, 197px\" \/><\/p>\n<div>No Game No Life is based in a world where everything is dealt with through games, No Game No Life, it is one of these mush-watch anime (I am thinking of creating a list of these anime at a later time). This anime is very different from those with similar otherworldly setting, and the twists &amp; the way Sora handles things increases the enjoyment of the anime in my opinion. Unlike what some people think, this anime is not trying to follow Sword Art Online or Log Horizon examples, instead, No Game No Life tries to do things in its own way, and that makes it very unique from them.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>No Game No Life is another anime where an Otaku(s) &amp; shut-in get transported to another world, and where their Otaku experience benefit them a lot.\u00a0I have to\u00a0emphasise\u00a0that there besides that, the two anime stop being similar.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetmonia.com\/Sweet-Anime-Blog\/no-game-no-life-review\/\">Read my No Game No Life\u00a0Review.<\/a><\/strong><\/div>\n<h2>And Finally<\/h2>\n<div>Outbreak Company\u00a0made me think of\u00a0something, since the Japanese government is going to a great extent to spread the Otaku culture to another world,\u00a0maybe they should do that to our world as well??? I mean, much more than they are doing already.
