Learn Photoshop CC With Pictures Chapters List:-

Photoshop user Interface

The first chapter in my Photoshop book introduces you Photoshop CC user interface, you start learning Photoshop by finding your way around it.?First, it gives you a brief look on the user interface,?with a simple picture that shows you the main parts of the user interface elements.?Then it moves to the options bar, which you will use a lot to change the settings of your tools, like the brush Tool opacity or the strength of the Blur tool.?It also explains how to work with Photoshop panels, how to arrange them, expand & collapse them?in different ways.

The folloinwg picture explains how to use the color picker in details

Photoshop Color Picker

The chapter also covers the tools panel, how to resize it, and access the tools below some of the currently visible tools.?In additional to all that, it introduces you workspaces, and how to save the arrangement of you panels so that you can have a workspace for each activity, like one for painting,?and one for retouching images.?

Images are being used to show you how to work with Photoshop panels.

Collapsing Panels in Photoshop CC

After that, we move into the topic of creating new documents, with an explanation of many of the options you could specify in the new image dialog, like the document size, resolution. background colours, and different other settings.?

At the end of the chapter, the book introduces the Zoom & Hand tool, which you will find useful to know in order to view the part of the picture you want to focus on.

I honestly wanted this chapter to be?short, as I find it better for you to start learning Photoshop & getting results from the beginning, which is what we do starting from the second chaptor. But?I am aware?knowing the user interface is essential to learning Photoshop CC, so I couldn't escape having to make this the first chapter.

Getting Started With The Brush Tool

Here is where the action begins, this chapter gives you a practical overview on the brush tool, and how to create soft & hard strokes. And other types of strokes, with examples on how to use what you learned in more than a way. The good thing about this chapter that you get results from the very beginning of using Photoshop,?and the book will?add to?what you learned more in the upcoming chapters.?

The difference between the brush tool flow & opacity settings is domenstrated using examples.

The Flow & Opacity Of The Brush Tool

Blending modes of the brush tool

This chapter continues with the brush tool.?It explains the different blending tools of the brush tools, with examples of each of these. This chapter may appear intimidating to you at first. But it simply encourage you to experiment with blending modes, and to discover how they are a very easy & effective way to create effects, even for those who are are just beginning to learn Photoshop CC.

The blending modes can do tons of things, like turning the day into night.

Blending Modes Of The Brush Tool

Blending modes is one of the features I though are important to learn from the very beginning, as many things you will learn in the upcoming chapters depend on them, and that?on its own will augment what you can do with Photoshop.

Blending modes can also be used to color your pictures in different ways.

Coloring Using Blending Modes

In this example, the gray penguin was made white using blending modes.

Loading new brushes In Photoshop and?creating new ones

After the somewhat intimidating chapter on the blending modes, this chapter continues with the brush tool. It teaches you simple but important thing, which is how to use different brushes in Photoshop, and how to create yours from scratch. It also explains how to download additional brushes online & install them,?which gives you an unlimited ways to be creative with Photoshop.?

Working with layers and manipulating them

After 3 chapters with the brush tool, we now get to cover the next important thing in Photohsop:- Layers,?which may feel peculiar to those new to Photoshop.

Just with the case of blending modes.?I personally find it super important to teach layers from the very begging for that reason. Especially with the number of features in the program depend on them.?

The cool thing about this chapter is, besides explaining you how to use layers in Photoshop, it shows you how the things you have learned in the previous chapters, like opacity, flow & blending modes, can be used with layers to add to what you can do with Photoshop.?

Photoshop layers can be used in tons of ways, for one, it can take one picture like this:-

First Layer

And another one like this:-

Second Layer

And merge the two by changing the blending mode of the one on the top

Photoshop Selection Tools

No Photoshop book can be complete without a good chapter about selection tools. And this book is no different. This chapter covers all sort of Photoshop seletion tools, from the shape selection tools, like the Rectangular Marquee Tool, to the 3 lasso selection tools. As well as the Wand tool. Along with many of the options of these tools.

This chapter doesn't cover the pen tool, which can be used as a selection tool, as an important tool like that needs a dedicated chapter for it, which is what the next chapter is all about.

In the following picture, the whole background has been changed, this is one of the most common things that you can do using them.

Changing The Backgrounds Using Photoshop Selection Tools

Using Photoshop pen tool, and an?introduction to B?zier curves

Among all the chapters in this Photoshop book, this chapter is important, it teaches you slowly, a step-by-steps how to use the pen tool. This slow pace is done on purpose, becuase most Photoshop books I know don't try to emphasize the importance of this tool, which is is usually ignored by Photoshop?beginners, so the goal of this chapter is to help you perfectly understand this important tool, and to hopefully end up using it sooner than most other Photoshop users. As it will help you in tons of situation in used correctly, whether you plan to use Photoshop for designing, photography or creating artworks,?which is why I tell you this:-?Please take your time to learn Photoshop pen tool. And don't skip this chapter. Photoshop beginners tend to ignore this tool for the longest time possible. Which is quite a loss for them. Giving the amount of things this tool can allow them to do.

The components of B?zier curves are introduced in details in this chapter:-

Cropping Images in Photoshop using the Crop Tool & Rectangle Marquee Tool. And An Introduction to aspect ratio

Here you will learn how to crop images correctly. First you will get to learn the concept of the aspect ratio, and how to use it to crop images to suit the final place where you plan to use the image, using various ways & techniques.

Many of the settings of Photoshop are explained in my Photoshop book in ways that are detailed & easy to understand.

Cropping images options

Resizing Images in Photoshop and canvas

This chapter can be considered a continuation of the previous one,?as images are often resized after they are cropped,?it explains how to resize pictures, and how that is different from resizing the canvas. And how to use the?resizing canvas to create a simple Internet MEME. All in a great details.

To make sure as much people can benefit from this chapter, I explain how the image resizing dialogs in both Photoshop CC & Photoshop CS6,?so even if you have an older version of Photoshop, you can still benefit from this chapter.

This chapter help you learn how to resize images using both the Image Size dialog in Photoshop CC & Photoshop CS6 and before. The following diagram explains the Image Resize dialog in Photoshop CC:-

One of the fun things you can do with text in Photoshop is to make a text follow any path you make with the pen tool, like I did with the text below:-

Aligning text to path

Photoshop Photo Manipulation tools Part I:- Clone Stamp Tool, Healing Brush Tool & Spot Healing Brush Tool.

This chapter explains one of the most amusing Photoshop tools to use, which are Photoshop Photo?Manipulation?tools,?it focuses on the following tools for a starter:-

The chapter explain how to use these 3 tools to do things like removing a referee from an American football match, to removing blemish from a man’s neck in simple steps.

In the following example, I took a picture of the read in the middle of the day:-

Turning Day To Sunset 1

Then I took sunset from a different image, and used the Clone Stamp Tool to copy the sky from it. Then I added the final touch using the brush tool to make it look realistic:-

Photoshop Photo Manipulation Tools Part II: Patch Tool, Content-Aware Move Tool, And Content-Aware Fill.

This chapter continues with Photoshop Photo-manipulation tools, but this time, we covers the following tools:-

In a way or another, all these tools are content-aware tools,?which is a feature Adobe introduced in Photoshop starting from Photoshop CS5. This feature basically removes or move a certain object in your picture by analyzing its surrounding area,?without you having to do much work at all. Pretty neat, huh?

The content-aware tools can do tons of useful things, take the following cat for one:-

A cat to be moved

I moved it quite easily using the Content-Aware Move Tool:-

Moving a cat using the content-aware move tool

And I was able to remove him competely using the Content-Aware tool:-

Removing the cat using content-Aware tool

Content-Aware tools can also be used to create the missing parts of any picture, like how I did with the following one:-

Completing the missing parts of an image using Photoshop content-aware tools

As we did with the cat in the first example, you can remove many kinds of objects using the Content-Aware too, like I removed the towel form the following picture:-

Removing a towel using content aware fill tool

Here is the picture after I removed the towel from it:-

Photoshop Blur Tool, Sharpen Tool and the Smudge Tool

Just like the last two chapters, this chapter covers 3 more photoshop tools, which are:-

All these tools are straightforward to use, and most of the focus here is?on the settings of these 3 tools.

The strenth tool of the smudge tool is a nice way to control how many picture you displace using the tool:-

The strength setting of Photoshop smudge tool

And that tool can be used in many ways, I created a logo using it in this example:-

This is a simple chapter compared to the last few chapters, it explains simple but very useful tools, which are the shape tools, which can be used to draw basic shapers, like rectangles, polygons?& lines.?

This chapter goes with detail into the different settings of each of the shape tools available to you.

Many examples in this chapter are about creating?simple drawings using the shape tools alone.

Photoshop Shape Tool allows you to create polygons with any number of sides you choose:-

Polygon Tool Sides Option

Here is how the Rectangle Tool Options are explained, many of the other shape tools are explained in my Photoshop book in a similar fashion:-

Learning Photoshop Blending Options is?a simple yet an effective way to add effects to the contents of each layer. Blending options can be added using the Layer Style dialog, which is explained in exhaustive details in this chapter. The key to understanding blending modes is to experiment with them, and this chapter hopefully makes things easier by explaining almost all the options in?that dialog.

Among all the chapters in my Photoshop book, this one has the most number of pictures in it.:D

Photoshop Layer Styles:-
